Corridor NYC. The Best Story in Menswear, Buried on an About Page.

Corridor NYC apparel brand ecommerce marketing agency Facebook Ads case study

A former FBI agent who taught himself to sew, Japanese and Italian fabrics, family-run workshops, and a GQ feature calling them the brand dressing Hollywood's new cool guys. None of it was being used in paid. We changed that.

The Story Was Invisible in Paid

The founder story, fabric sourcing, and GQ press lived on an About page cold traffic never reached. Every ad showed product only with no differentiating angle.

Press Was Not Being Amplified

GQ named Corridor the brand dressing Hollywood's new cool in March 2023. No paid campaign was built around it and no email sequence referenced the feature.

Email Had No Retention Logic

Email capture worked and a loyalty program existed but no post-purchase sequence, no cross-sell, and no win-back was in place for lapsed customers.

AOV Anchored at Entry Level

Most paid traffic converted on a single shirt at $95 to $145. Knitwear and outerwear at up to $395 had no acquisition pathway in paid or email.

The Diagnostic

Story-Led Creative

Three Meta angles using untapped assets: the FBI founder story, Japanese and Italian fabric sourcing, and the GQ Hollywood feature. Tested against product-only creative as control.

Email Retention Stack

Five-email welcome sequence leading with the founder story. Post-purchase flow cross-sold knitwear 21 days after a first shirt purchase. Loyalty reactivation with one-click redemption prompt.

Higher-AOV Paid Funnel

Separate campaign driving cold traffic to outerwear and knitwear with fabric-story creative. Landing pages rebuilt to surface material provenance and workshop partnerships above product specs.

What Didn't Work

The GQ press angle underperformed cold traffic. Strong CTR but poor purchase rate. Men at this price point needed to feel the product story, not read a credential. Moved GQ reference to the welcome email sequence where it converted well as a trust signal.

First outerwear LP led with technical fabric details. Bounce rate was high, CPA 60% above target. Rebuilt to lead with the fabric origin story as narrative and moved specs below the fold. CPA dropped 41% within 10 days.

Story Became the Top Creative

The FBI founder angle outperformed every product-only creative by 52% on ROAS. The brand story converted cold traffic in a way product ads had never achieved.

Email Revenue Tripled

Welcome sequence and loyalty reactivation tripled email-attributed revenue in 60 days. Loyalty redemption rate increased from 8% to 31% of eligible customers.

AOV Up 43%

Outerwear campaign and post-purchase cross-sell moved average order value from $148 to $212. Higher-margin pieces became consistent first purchases for the first time.

Press Finally Paid Off

The GQ feature, 18 months after publication, became a top-three email asset in the welcome sequence. Idle earned media generated direct revenue for the first time.
